IF

If I was going to make a Babette blanket I would probably use colours something like this

and my squares would start to look something like this...
but I wouldn't be doing anything so silly as starting another project, so instead here (finally) is the progress I have made on the hexagon blanket:
hexagons starting to grow

This blanket is actually the reworking of a wip that was looking like this.

A gorgeous striped cardigan for Miss L in Rowan wool cotton.   Unfortunately, the completed back you see here is a size 2, and given that Miss L is now 5 I might have just left this project a little too late! (now there's an understatement).  There wasn't enough yarn to complete a bigger size so the perfect excuse to start some hexagons.  Miss L is monitoring the blanket's progress quite closely, including sizing it up to her bed!  Nothing like cracking that whip over your mother!!

When my little overseer has retired for the night, I have been trying to still work out a colour way I like for the chevron scarf.  I won't bore you with photo's of all the versions I have tried, but I think I finally like this one - I think!
chevron version i've lost count!
And I've also grown attached to this version - in 3 ply hand dyed cashmere (purchased from AK).

So you can see it is really very lucky that I haven't started any other projects this week (she says nudging the Babette blanket under the cushion).  But I know you are really here to find out if you won this month's giveaway.  My helpful little barrel bunny (or bowl bunny as the case may be), Pebble was very excited to be able to choose this month's winner.

The prize is this great book.

And the winner is
so Gwen email me your address - whizzme (at)bigpond(dot)net(au).

Finally, because so many of you have been so lovely about my knitting tote's, there are now 3 available in the shop - all sporting great Aunty Cookie fabric. (hey Jo, look, I finally made something for the shop?!)

Now I hear Miss L saying something about blankets....

I love those hexagons and those chevrons and I'm sure if you were daft enought to even consider starting another project then those crochet squares would be perfect ;)
I could do with someone cracking the whip for me - only four knitting WIPs, one crochet one and about twelve million sewing ones going on right now. Unfocussed, moi?

Fantastic multi-tasking with all the WIP's too...You are AMAZING! (or a crazy lady weilding knitting needles?)
;)

Oh those blankets look so nice. The hexagon one looks beautiful. I think we have the same problem, startitis. I can never help myself starting new projects and therefore there are always others needing to be finished. I just popped over to your shop too and bought one of your fabulous knitting totes.

I would never have thought that crochet hexagons could look so pretty! The chevrons look beautiful as well. And it is a great idea to combine two yarns.
I am lucky, I won. Thanks a lot! Take care.

Hey your hexagons look great, and so does the scarf. Must feel good to take apart a WIP and start making something more inspiring...

I've always wished I could crochet, but never more than now after seeing your gorgeous hexagon WIP. Really, really pretty!
So pleased to see that lovely Rowan wool being re-used. It would be such shame (and an expensive shame at that) to see it go to waste.

You would be very surprised to know that once upon a time I used to crochet. It even surprises me. My grandma taught me who was excellent at it. I also used to knit and sew. Can you believe it? But then I decided that any sort of craft work gave me headaches so I stopped and don't really remember much now.
